The day of the party is no time to find out that you don’t have enough chairs
When planning a party it’s always best to figure out exactly what you’ll need long before the day of the actual event. I’m sure you have heard the familiar saying that failing to plan is planning to fail. While this is true in many cases it does not take into the account of varying circumstances. But you can plan to deal with circumstances such as this simply by… planning.
You certainly don’t want guests to show up at your party and they don’t have anywhere to sit. But, on the other hand you really don’t need to spend extra money on chairs that won’t be needed at the party. So where is the safe middle ground that can have all your guests seated for the toast that you’ve been working so hard on? Figuring out the number of chairs you’ll need will really be determined by the type of party you’re having. For instance, if you are having a wedding party or reception one of the easiest to determine since all that will be in attendance will need a invitation. Most times this is taken care of by the wedding planner but you can assume most of the people will attend this event. So however many invites you sent out be sure to have at least that number of chairs. While other parties may not even have half of the invites show up. Then again, if your invite suggests that guests are welcome you could have many more people than you realize show up.
To help determine exactly how many chairs you’ll need simply poll your guests before the party. Ask a few of them if they are planning on attending and if they are bringing a guest along with them. Then you can better determine how many chairs you’ll need.
